We strive to supply our customers with the highest quality of bluegrass sod to the Illinois and Indiana region.

Benefits of Sod vs. Seeding
There are basically two ways to establish a lawn: turfgrass sod or seeding/hydroseeding. Sodding is applying strips of turfgrass sod to prepared soil creating an instant lawn. Seeding/Hydroseeding is applying selected turf-grass seeds to prepared soil, allowing it to grow in place to maturity.

Measuring your Planned Lawn & Ordering Sod
With a tape, measure the various areas of your planned lawn. Include these measurements on a sketch of the areas, with the length, width, and any irregular features. Using the formulas illustrated here, determine the square footage of sod needed.

Watering New Turf Grass Sod
Water is essential to all life...too little water and we die, too much and we drown. The same is true of the grass in our lawns. Water makes up 70% to 80% of the weight of our lawn grasses and the clippings alone are nearly 90% water. While most people are concerned about not watering their lawns enough, the fact is that more lawns are damaged or destroyed by over-watering. Newly installed turf grass sod has very important watering needs. Proper watering immediately after installation will ensure the turf gets established, and it will also have an impact on how well the lawn continues to flourish for years to come.

3-D Sod Installation & Establishment
Install your lawn immediately upon delivery. We harvest all of our sod to the order because sod is a living plant that requires ground contact and moisture to survive. Begin installing sod along a good straight edge such as a sidewalk or lot line of the property that has a string stretched from one end to the other. Lay two or three rolls of sod along the straight edge. Then go back to the start and lay another roll alongside the first roll you put down. Cut this roll in half and follow this 1/2 roll with a full one.
