Benefits of Sod vs. Seeding

Just Like a Normal Lawn

Our sod will not need special care because it is a healthy mature lawn when installed, whereas a sprigged or seeded lawn requires years of nurturing to reach maturity. We recommend that a fertilizer be applied to the soil before the planting of the sod, but it is not a must. We grow our sod under close expert management from top quality certified sod seed.

Easy Maintenance

After it’s been installed, just water, mow and fertilize your sod lawn as needed and it will remain a healthy, green carpet of grass, requiring very little maintenance. If you are looking for instant gratification sod is the only answer. Seed may take several years of work to get to sod quality and chances are it may never look as good as the sod that you purchase.

Seeding is difficult

Let the experts do what they do best. We are grass experts and work with our seed every day until the sod is harvested and delivered to your door step. Seeding requires just as much if not more grading. It will take more fertilizing, and spraying applications, as well as more irrigation to achieve a solid stand. Most people that seed have to re-seed or over seed the same areas several times a year. All of these factors add up to be considerably more than the cost to place the sod in the yard one time and be done.

Instant Gratification

Finally, Sod is better than seed because it gives you a finished look from the day that it is installed, it prevents erosion immediately, it increases the value of your home instantly, and also saves you money and time from having to deal with all of the headaches of raising seed.
